The Evangelism Team

The goal of the evangelism team is to do as Jesus instructed in Mark 16:15, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation (NIV).  Although we do not preach, Christ Church Xenia takes Jesus’ message seriously.  For the past few years, the evangelism team has had a steady presence at First Fridays from May to September.  In the beginning, the team provided information about the church, played a different game each Friday, and provided a prayer box for the community.  Over 250 children and their families would visit the booth each Friday.  In the process, the team realized how important the church was to Xenia community because we constantly heard, “you’re the church with the shelter” or “I visit your clothes closet on Tuesday.”  In 2016, the team distributed 350 New Testaments for the people who stopped at the booth or simply passed by.  Because of our First Friday ministry, the community now seeks out ‘the church with the red doors’ to deposit their prayers, fellowship, and simply find words of encouragement.
